- Big Cat Sightings: The conservancy is home to predators like lions (including the region's well-known short-maned lions), cheetahs, and leopards.

- Sundowners: Enjoy the classic safari tradition of a sundowner—drinks and refreshments served at a scenic viewpoint as the sun sets over the plains.
Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Ngutuni Waterhole Experience
Morning
Depart from Mombasa, Diani, or Voi. The drive to Ngutuni Conservancy is scenic.
Midday
Arrive at your accommodation (e.g., Ngutuni Safari Lodge). Check-in and have lunch, often with a view of the waterhole.
Afternoon
Relax and watch the wildlife that congregates at the lodge’s waterhole. This is a key highlight of Ngutuni, offering close-up viewing of elephants, buffalo, and various antelopes.
Late Afternoon
Embark on your first game drive within the private Ngutuni Conservancy. Look for the “Big Red Elephants” and other plains game like giraffes, zebra, and antelopes.
Evening
Return to the lodge for dinner. The waterhole is floodlit at night, offering a unique chance to see nocturnal animals or those that come to drink after dark, such as lions or hyenas.
Day 2: Tsavo East National Park Exploration
Early Morning
Wake up early for the best viewing opportunities. Drive into Tsavo East National Park (Ngutuni borders it on three sides). Explore the vast plains, famous for the Yatta Plateau (the world’s longest lava flow) and the park’s characteristic red dust. Target the Tsavo River for potential crocodile and hippo sightings.
Late Morning
If pre-arranged, enjoy a special breakfast out in the bush before heading back towards the conservancy.
Midday
Return to the Ngutuni Lodge for lunch and a short siesta to escape the midday heat.
Afternoon
Opt for a guided walking safari within the conservancy (if offered and permitted) to experience the bush on foot, focusing on tracking and smaller details, or enjoy more leisure time observing the waterhole from the lodge.
Late Afternoon
Go out for a final game drive in Ngutuni, timing your return to enjoy a beautiful sundowner (drinks while watching the sunset) at a scenic spot before heading back to the lodge.
Evening
Enjoy your final safari dinner and listen to the sounds of the African night from your balcony or the main lodge area.
Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Departure
Early Morning
Check out early for one last game drive in the conservancy or a quick drive into Tsavo East (depending on your onward travel time). This is often the best time to spot predators.
Late Morning
Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast.
Midday
Check out and begin the drive back to your final destination (Mombasa, Diani, Nairobi, etc.), carrying with you memories of the Kenyan bush.
